Terms of Service
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms explain how you can use MFL Made Simple. We've kept them in plain English. Nothing in these terms affects any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
1. Who we are
MFL Made Simple is an online toolkit for modern foreign languages teachers. MFL Made Simple is a trading name of Why Not Languages Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 13641112. Registered office: 125 Beech Avenue, Bourne, United Kingdom, PE10 9RB. You can contact us at abbie@whynotlanguages.co.uk.
2. Your account
MFL Made Simple is for teachers and education professionals. You must be at least 18 to create an account. Keep your sign-in details private and don't share your account with others. You're responsible for activity on your account.
3. Free and Pro plans
The Free plan costs £0 and includes monthly allowances for some resources. Free allowances reset each calendar month.
Pro gives full normal access without the Free monthly limits, subject to fair use.
- Pro Monthly costs £9.99 per month and renews automatically each month until cancelled.
- Pro Annual costs £99 per year and renews automatically each year until cancelled.
Payments are taken securely by our payment provider, Stripe. Prices are shown in pounds sterling before you pay.
4. Renewal and cancellation
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, using your saved payment method, until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from Plan & billing → Manage subscription. When you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your account moves to Free. There is no cancellation fee.
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry it. If it still can't be collected, your account moves to Free.
5. Refunds
Nothing in these terms affects any rights you may have under applicable consumer law. If you think you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at abbie@whynotlanguages.co.uk and we will look at your request fairly.
6. Changes to plans and prices
We may change our plans or prices in future. If a change affects your paid subscription, we'll tell you in advance, and it will apply from your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
7. Fair use
To keep the service reliable for everyone, we apply sensible protections such as limits on how many requests can be made in a short time. These are designed to stop misuse, not to limit normal teaching use.
8. Generated resources
Some resources are generated or assisted by AI. We work to improve accuracy, but teachers should review generated materials before using them with students.
You are responsible for checking resources are accurate and suitable for your students before you use them.
Please avoid entering student names or other unnecessary personal information. Class information in MFL Made Simple is teaching context only — it does not need student names, emails, grades or other personal details.
9. Assessment resources
MFL Made Simple assessments are original resources aligned to published exam-board specifications and assessment principles. They are not past-paper questions and are not endorsed by the exam board.
Where we mention AQA, it is only to describe alignment with the published specification. Our assessments are not official AQA materials and are not predictions of future exam questions.
10. Using your resources
You can download, edit, print and use the resources you create with your own classes and colleagues in your school. Your own vocabulary, notes and uploaded files stay yours.
The MFL Made Simple website, software, design and templates belong to us. Please don't:
- sell or publish MFL Made Simple resources as a competing commercial product;
- share or resell access to your account;
- scrape, copy at scale or systematically extract content or the resource system;
- try to break, attack, overload or get around the security or limits of the service;
- upload anything unlawful, harmful, or that you don't have the right to use.
11. Service availability and changes
We work to keep MFL Made Simple available and improving, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, add or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you've paid for, we'll let you know.
12. Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where reasonable, we'll contact you first. You can stop using the service at any time and cancel any subscription as described above.
13. Our liability
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts. This does not remove any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
15. Contact and support
